The Summit - Friday 18th June Dinner

Thursday was our year long Anniversary, so we decided to go to the first restaurant that we went as a couple, which was the Summit perched atop Mount Coot-tha.

The restaurant has a fantastic view of the city with large glass windows right around giving a nice 180 degree of the city. Very nice at night.

The service is very good and our waiter was very attentive. Our meal was served after about 15 to 20 minutes waiting. Di ordered Fish and I went for Chicken. The meal was nice, not fantastic, but very nice nevertheless, and the suroundings made it much better. After the meal we got a desert that had chocolate cake, bitter chocolate mousse, chocolate Icecream and Chocolate Mud (from a mud cake I am guessing :)

All up the meals were about $25 each and the dessert was about $12. Although they looked small we were very full at the end of it.

Overall:
Food: Very Nice
Service: really good.
Length of wait: Meals took about 20 minutes or so, but can be spent enjoying the amazing view.
Price: About $65 for both of us, maybe a little pricey for the meal.
Parking: Free parking on Mount Coot-Tha for the lookout, even parking away a little is nice, the view is worth the walk.

Recommended to others: Yes. Excellent place for a date or Anniversary, trust me, I will be back each year :)

Glavis's - Wednesday 16th Dinner

Went to Glavis' restaurant in St Lucia, it's located in the Vil not far from the Uni. We have been there before a few times. There is nothing flashy about the place but the food is really nice and really well priced. Each time we go we always get the $7 black board specials, which are usually always the same each week. But they are really nice. For a bite to eat while around the Uni it's highly recommended.

Overall:
Food: Pretty good
Service: good (has never been really busy)
Length of wait: short, usually 10 15 minutes
Price: about $7 each for the specials
Parking: Some parking at the Vil if you are lucky, otherwise some street parking. Don't park too long cause of the Uni there are lots of traffic people around at odd times.

Recommended to others: Yes, really nice meal when heading from Uni.

Ahmets - 28th May Dinner

I know if you have read our previous posts that you may be surprised to see Ahmets back on our list. Basically we sent an email explaining what had happened to us. They sent us a gift voucher to apologise. Also my friend Jeff really wanted to go there (it was actually him that wanted to go there before we went for my Birthday). So we went along.

Service this time was much better. We were inside in the normal seats, very hard to miss this time :) The meals still took a fair time to prepare, almost 45 minutes or so, but wasn't as bad as there was a group of us.

Ordered actual meals this time, so that dropped the price back to about $20 for each of our meals. The drinks were pretty expensive, and so are entrees, but it wasn't too bad. We enjoyed our entrees (especially the dips) more then the main meal.

Overall:
Food: Not too bad
Service: A lot better
Length of wait: ~45 Minutes for the four of our meals
Price: Turned out to be about $130 for the four of us
Parking: South bank parking - free parking with a meal or movie.

Recommended to others: It is just a bit too expensive for the food. I still find it a little hard to recommend here when there is nicer meals in the city, valley or westend. I guess if you are looking for themed turkish in Southbank then this is your place...
